Let's Share! -- Kids Say...

Okay, I have a story that is just too funny not to tell.

The other day, I was sitting on my bed, typing away on the laptop, while Alana and Kyra were watching cartoons.

Kyra stood up and walked across the bed to stand by my side. She was quiet for a few moments before asking, "Mommy, do you have any nipples?"

Not wanting to get into a discussion about nipples or have Kyra trying to lift my shirt to look, I told her no.

She laughed. "Yes, you do, Mommy. You have one right here!" She pointed to this mole I have on the back of my neck (you know the ones that are big and stick out).

My eyes widened. Where do kids get this stuff? "No, honey, that's not a nipple."

"Yes, it is!"

"No, it's a mole."

"What's a mole?"

Here we go again...

Needless to say, I couldn't even answer because I was laughing so hard.

Your turn! Let's share some kids say...stories-doesn't have to be your own, just has to be funny!

  1. Haha!! Ralene, that made me laugh. I have a similar story, but I'm not posting it online. No way! :D

  2. I have a few, but this is the most recent:

So my son comes up to me the other day and pokes me in the breast.

"What's that?" he asked. Staring. It was a little weird.

I told him, using the, uh, informal word first (i was gonna give him both formal and informal)

He BUSTED UP LAUGHING. "Boob! ahahahahaha!"

It was so funny, I couldn't not laugh with him. Which is terrible, I know, but it was so. funny.

Then we had a little talk about how you don't touch 'em.

But still. It was a good time.

  3. Annie emailed me her story, and it was just as funny. Let's encourage her to share!

Lisa, isn't it quite a chore to try and explain this stuff to our kids? Sheesh! That's funny, though.

  4. I can't think of one of my own right now, but someone in my family (who shall remain nameless) had one. Her daughter, who is now 5 and starting kindergarten, happened to barge into the bathroom while **** was taking a bath. (Normally the door would be locked, but apparently on this day it was not.) Little one says, "Mom, how come you have hair on your butt?" (I think one of my daughters had a similar question once--in a public restroom with multiple occupied stalls, of course!)
    Kids! Gotta love 'em!

  5. Hope your doctor appt goes well, Ralene and that you get a handle on the diabetes. That has to be tough!

  6. Okay, since Ralene asked so nicely... here's my story.

When I was 18, I was very skinny and I liked to wear these loose overalls, which were in fashion at that time (carpenter-style pants with a bib and shoulder straps).

I was babysitting two boys, 2 and 4 years old. The four-year-old one was an outspoken, active little boy with curly blond hair. So cute, but a handful! LOL One day, he looked at me very seriously and said, out of the blue, "Many women of your age have breasts."

It took me a few seconds to respond. "Um... Yeah?"

Then he said "Why don't you have any?"

Haha!!! What could I say to THAT? :D

  7. You'll love this one.

I was changing Sadie's diaper the other day and Jacen, my 4yo, was watching. All of the sudden he goes, "Mom! Where's Sadie's pee pee?"

    I just died laughing.

  8. ROFL! You guys are all too funny. Gotta love those kids.

Tamara, I had a similar conversation with Kyra, only opposite (seeing as, you know, Connor's a boy). lol...

Katie, thank you, hun. It has been rough, but i hope the doc can help!

  9. When my oldest son was about three, he racked himself for the first time.He asked me to kiss his boo boo. It was hard to stop laughing long enough to tell him that was not proper. I ended up kissing his hand and he passed it along. Kids! Got to love them.

  10. lol, I've had a similar experience as the one Shauna related.

I always feared my kid would then go to church and tell her primary teacher all about it. Because that's what they do best.

  11. Oh, goodness! I'm in stiches here people--stiches!

  12. These are too funny. I know I'm late to the party, but I have one too. One day (when the boys were very young) we were at the big sale they have at the mall where everything is up to 80% off at Sears. So we had tired kids, no cart, and my son whined for me to pick him up - then he wanted to get down - over and over again.

He did it once and I was tired too and I guess I picked him up and placed him on my hip with a little too much oomph.

He yelled out in the middle of the crowded store, "Mommy, you hurt my p-nis!"

I wanted a whole to open up in the floor and swallow me.

  13. LOL!! That's funny!!!

    Umm...I have one...LMAO!
